DIVISION STREET PRODUCTIONS

Division Street Productions has been inactive for quite some time. Shortly after the Aniboom Radiohead contest, we decided to move out of our studio space due to financial reasons, and have put everything on hold. Stop-motion animation proved to be too tedious, expensive, and space consuming given the limited budget and resources at our disposal. So, Josh and Joey have put it on the back burner. Both have a continued interest in animation, and creative arts in general, but for the time being have put all projects on hold.

Joey has recently moved to Brooklyn. Josh remains in Greensboro but is in the process of preparing to make a move some time in the near future. Joey hopes to get involved in another music project, and Josh has aspirations to design funiture and develop his drawing.

All our films will still be available here, Youtube and on Vimeo. Please feel free to check back and find out what new things we may be involved in.

This Saturday Joey and Josh will be giving a Regional Visiting Artists Exhibition at the Greensboro Children's Museum in downtown Greensboro (across from the Public Library on Church St.) From 11am - 2pm. They will have an animation table set up for hands on animation with the children as well as some examples on display from their past work. You will also be able to check out their films 'Bolt' and 'Awaken' while you are there.

We have just aquired a permanent studio space at the Lyndon St. Artworks in downtown Greensboro. Feel free to stop by anytime between 9-5 each week. We may not be there, but there are plenty of other artists working all the time and the public gallery space is always open. We should be at work soon though, on some short comedy sequences for our reel.

P.S. Don't be afraid of all the wild cats, they are fine.

We have thrown our hat into the ring to work on the new feature 'Unicorns' from director Leah Meyerhoff. There are about 10 minutes of animated fantasy sequences in the film which will have a very handmade, raw feel to them.

There has been alot going on lately and we apologize for not keeping everyone updated. We have been hard at work on our entry to the Radiohead Animaiton Contest over at Aniboom.com. Unfortunately we did not make it to the second round and could not come up with enough money to attempt to make it through the second elimination on our own. We still hope to finish what we've started in some form or another.

We probably won't be able to aquire the rights to All I Need from Radiohead, so whatever happens, the song will probably change. We wish that were not the case, but licensing can cost a lot of money. But, we know some very talented people, like Vinaya Ly, Free The Robots, Cites (and all the remnants of that project), and House of Fools. We'll keep you posted.

Round two of the Radiohead Animation Contest, and we were not one of the ten semifinalists. Quite a row has ensued over the semifinalists chosen however, and the chance to make it on your own money has gone from 1 to 3! We don't have the spare money though and probably won't be persuing that option.
